Precipitation Hardening in Ferroelectric Ceramics

چکیده

Domain wall motion in ferroics, similar to dislocation metals, can be tuned by well-concepted microstructural elements. In demanding high-power applications of piezoelectric materials, the domain is considered as a lossy hysteretic mechanism that should restricted. Current for so-called hard piezoelectrics are abundant and hinge on use an acceptor-doping scheme. However, this features severe limitations due enhanced mobility oxygen vacancies at moderate temperatures. By analogy with metal technology, authors present here new solution electroceramics, where precipitates utilized pin walls improve properties. Through sequence sintering, nucleation, precipitate growth, intragranular leading fine structure developed shown transmission electron microscopy, piezoresponse force phase-field simulation. This impedes elucidated electromechanical characterization. As result, mechanical quality factor increased ?50% hysteresis electrostrain suppressed considerably. even achieved slightly coefficient coupling factor. novel process smoothly implemented industrial production processes accessible simple laboratory experimentation microstructure optimization implementation various ferroelectric systems.

Precipitation Hardening of Metal Alloys

Precipitation hardening, or age hardening, provides one of the most widely used mechanisms for the strengthening of metal alloys. The fundamental understanding and basis for this technique was established in early work at the U. S. Bureau of Standards on an alloy known as Duralumin [1,2]. Duralumin is an aluminum alloy containing copper and magnesium with small amounts of iron and silicon. In a...

Precipitation hardening in dilute Al–Zr alloys

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of solute content (hipoperitectic Al–0.22 wt.%Zr and hiperperitectic Al–0.32 wt.%Zr) on the precipitation hardening and microstructural evolution of dilute Al–Zr alloys isothermally aged. The materials were conventionally cast in a muffle furnace, solidified in a water-cooled Cu mold and subsequently heat-treated at the temperature of 650 K (3...

Efficient Photoemission from Robust Ferroelectric Ceramics

Experimental results on photoemission by ferroelectric ceramic disks, with a possible interpretation, are presented. Two types of lead zirconate titanate lanthanum doped, PLZT, ceramics have been used for tests. 25 ps light pulses of 532 and 355 nm were used for excitation. The intensity ranged within the interval 0.1-3 GW/cm. The upper limit of the intensity was established by the damage thres...
